Michael S. Mehan CPA has an MBA in Finance, a certificate in International Financial Reporting Standards issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and holds the status of Chartered Global Management Accountant from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  He has extensive experience managing complex global financial accounting operations in a range of industries including manufacturing, retail/wholesale trade, commodities trading, and financial services.  In addition, he has worked with Private Equity (PE) backed businesses where the focus was on strategic planning and asset based transactions on both the buy and sell sides.

He started Kaya Accounting and Advisory Services in order to bring a more sophisticated level of experience and service to the cannabis industry.   In addition to financial reporting, he has gathered a core team of tax and legal experts who bring decades of experience to the service of cannabis businesses.
